About Family Law Attorney Dan Knowlton

Dan Knowlton is an experienced, highly trained family law attorney, continually handling family law matters since his admission to the California Bar in 1977. His early years of practice also included intensive civil (with substantial financial recoveries) and real estate litigation in his own firm.

For 45+ years, Mr. Knowlton has aggressively represented family law litigants in many trials and motions. He has appeared and argued matters before the California Court of Appeals, as well as the Utah State Supreme Court. In the last several years, he has successfully handled numerous family law matters in the many divorce courts of Los Angeles, Orange, San Diego, San Bernardino, and Riverside Counties. Matters have included dividing a number of multi-million dollar marital estates,  and representing professional athletes of the NFL and NBA.

For the last ten years, Mr. Knowlton has dedicated his attention to in-depth, scholarly studies in family law and procedures taught by the best authorities to aid in his clients’ success. He has also has extensive experience in pension benefits, deferred compensation, stock options, and military divorce matters (Mr. Knowlton is a veteran of the California National Guard).
