Charles Major

About Me

Charles E. Major II was born and raised in Texas. He earned his bachelor’s degree in business finance from Texas Tech University, graduating Suma Cum Laude. Following his undergraduate education, he moved to Los Angeles to pursue his legal career. He studied law at the University of Southern California’s Gould School of Law, where he was a recipient of the Crispus A. Write Scholarship.

After law school, Charles worked as a family law contract attorney for solo practitioners in Los Angeles. Thereafter he joined an Orange County family law firm, where he practiced for seven years. During that time, he handled dozens of dissolution and parentage cases from initiation to resolution and made countless court appearances in Orange, Los Angeles, Riverside, and San Bernardino counties, including long-cause evidentiary hearings.

In 2022, Charles and his family relocated to Gainesville, Florida, to support his wife’s pursuit of a Ph.D. in rehabilitation science. Following that move, he continued to practice family law, remotely, with his prior firm.

In April 2024, Charles welcomed the opportunity to join Moshtael Family Law as a fully remote member of Navid’s team. In that role, he handles complex cases, collaborating closely with clients and Navid to develop and case plans, effectively execute the same, and prepare cases for hearings and trials.

Charles’ strengths include strategic planning, his eye for detail, and an unrelenting work ethic. His clients appreciate his timely and thoughtful communication, pragmatism, conscientious balance, zealous advocacy and candid advice.

When he is not hard at work advancing his clients’ interests, Charles enjoys playing with his two young boys, spending time with his wife, weightlifting, and walking Gainesville’s nature reserves with his family in search of gators.
