About Me
Maritza Klinefelter brings over two decades of courtroom and legal experience to Moshtael Family Law, where she advocates for families with clarity, compassion, and strategic precision. A proud U.S. Army veteran, Maritza began her legal career in public service with the Los Angeles Superior Court, serving as a criminal department clerk and later as a judicial assistant across family, civil, and criminal courtrooms. She went on to supervise Civil Complex Operations for the Orange County Superior Court before founding and leading her own family law practice for 11 years.
Her legal foundation includes an internship with the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Hardcore Gang Division, where she assisted in preparing evidence for life sentencing hearings. While attending UC Berkeley, Maritza volunteered with the Berkeley Own Recognizance Project, supporting pretrial release efforts and reinforcing her commitment to procedural fairness and access to justice.
Fluent in both English and Spanish, Maritza is a trusted bilingual legal voice in Southern California. For nearly a decade, she served as the Spanish-language family law expert on Univision’s nationally syndicated radio show El Bueno, La Mala y El Feo (101.1 FM Los Angeles), and continues to make occasional appearances on Univision Channel 34 Los Angeles. Her outreach has helped thousands of families better understand their legal rights and options.
Maritza is deeply committed to community service and legal education. She has volunteered with the San Bernardino Legal Aid Society, participated in high school law pathway programs, and supported legal fairs hosted by the Whittier and Western San Bernardino Bar Associations.
At Moshtael Family Law, Maritza blends litigation strength with warmth and accessibility, ensuring every client—English or Spanish-speaking—feels heard, respected, and powerfully represented.
